When Cohiba started in 1963, it was a private roll specially made by cigarette makers for Cuban leader Castro. Soon became Castro's favorite. Cohiba Cohiba is an existing post-revolutionary brand founded in 1966.
Habanos positions it as a global flagship brand and has long been considered synonymous with high-quality Cuban cigars.
Tasting Note
After burning, the air is filled with a rich aroma, with COHIBA's signature rich floral and black sandalwood aroma. In the first half, I enjoy a complex floral scent, like those rose essential oils, thick but not overpowering. After the middle half, it turns into a strong roasted bean scent, and there is actually a touch of sweetness between the lips and teeth. In the second half, the woody notes of ebony and huanghuali return, as well as a rich creamy aroma.
Pairs very well with a variety of drinks. For a classic combination, enjoy this cigar with aged rum or a premium single malt Scotch Whiskey. Or a rich red wine or strong coffee can also enhance the smoking experience, bringing out the subtle nuances of Cohiba Robustos.
