When Cohiba started in 1963, it was a private roll specially made by cigarette makers for Cuban leader Castro. Soon became Castro's favorite. Cohiba Cohiba is an existing post-revolutionary brand founded in 1966.
Habanos positions it as a global flagship brand and has long been considered synonymous with high-quality Cuban cigars.
Cohiba launched the Linea Maduro 5 series in 2007, and unique to all 3 cigars in the series, the tobacco wrapper is Dark Maduro leaf. The leaves, which grow at the very top of the shade plant, require an additional aging and fermentation process over a period of 5 years before they reach a deep enough color to be classified as maduro. These leaves produce a sweeter rather than stronger flavor and inspired the name of the range.
Tasting Note
Maduro Secretos debuts with aromas of cedar and coffee beans, with pleasantly rich flavors of deep red fruits such as creamy chocolate and cherry, mixed with coffee, almonds and a hint of spice to lay the foundation for the flavour.
The medium to full flavor profile provides a sweet and tangy aroma. This is a great pairing with a cup of Americano coffee.
