Cuaba' is a term from the language of the indigenous people of Cuba, referring to a shrub that has excellent burning characteristics and is used to light cigars.

Cuaba was first introduced in London in 1996, making it the newest cigar brand from Cuba and the first new Cuban cigar brand to be commercially produced since 1968.

Cuaba cigars are made specifically for producing figurado (irregular-shaped) cigars. This tapered head and foot shape was very popular in the 19th century, but requires exceptional skill from the cigar rollers to produce a perfectly formed double-tapered cigar.
